Muscle Aging Science & Translation Symposium
The Muscle Aging Science and Translation (MAST) Symposium took place on April 18th, 2024 and featured over 400 participants. It was the largest Aging Initiative event to date, bringing together academic, clinical research, biotech, pharma, exercise science and other multidisciplinary experts together to share the frontiers of muscle preservation and frailty prevention. We are excited to announce the Neuroscience of Vitality and Aging (NOVA) Symposium as our next grand event in Spring 2026, which will bring together near 1000 participants.
Age-related frailty, including sarcopenia, osteoarthritis, and hip fractures, threatens mobility, independence, and quality of life. Despite their prevalence, there are no approved treatments for sarcopenia or muscle preservation during bed rest or hip fracture recovery, and disease-modifying therapies for osteoarthritis remain elusive. With aging populations worldwide, the need for innovation in treatment strategies and clinical development is urgent. This conference brings together researchers and students to discuss emerging solutions and drive collaboration in the fight against muscle aging.
